SMTP
You can continue to use
Microsoft Outlook to compose, receive and send email messages, but
the actual email messages are processed through our email account
using SMTP relaying services. This lets you bypass ISP
restrictions on your outbound emails to the outside world using
our email account and allows you to use your professional looking
"sales@your domain" email address rather than a general
“sales@isp name” address.
The SMTP relay service is provided to you as part of your email
account pckage. As such, you must activate the service when you
establish your email account settings. Our email packages
includes 50 SMTP relays per mailbox. If you need more than 50
relays for your mailbox, additional relay packs (packs of 50) can
be purchased.
Some ISPs allow only
outbound email that comes from accounts on their servers. Which is
fine, as long as you don't mind not having your own personal email
account ("name@yourdomain" versus "you1234@somebigISP,"
for example) and you don't mind the ISP's controlling how much
email you can send. But if you want the email you send to come
from "name@yourdomain" and also want control over how
much you send in a day, SMTP Relay is the service for you
